Hunter Volunteer Award Ceremony

We are so delighted that two of Charlie’s Gift volunteers nominated for awards in recognition of their valuable contribution to their community were successful.  Unfortunately neither could attend the formal ceremony hosted by the Hunter Volunteer Centre because of work commitments but I Founder was only too proud to receive their awards on their behalf.    Both Jana Kruger and Michael Booth were presented with their awards during our end of year Xmas party.

Jana received the Hunter Young Volunteer of The Year Award in recognition of her expertise and dedication while volunteering with Charlie’s Gift.  Despite full time work and study, Jana personally approached Charlie’s Gift to help with graphic design needs.  Jana told us she reached out to volunteer with Charlie’s Gift because of her close bond with her grandmother in South Africa who she misses deeply. Jana perfected our Logo and the Logo’s for our Community Programs. Truly talented and genuinely kind, Jana is much missed since moving to Mudgee to further her career.

Michael Booth has been our loyal and much valued IT/Website support person for over two years. Shortly after receiving his award Michael took on a mammoth volunteer role to help redesign our website to reflect our rebrand and be more inclusive and user friendly.  We are so grateful to Michael for taking on this challenging task and can’t wait to officially launch it to the community.
